about a week ago when it was negative i went to start it and there was a big puddle on the ground that was black and smelled like gas. it was because the spark plug was loose. i thought the motor was done bc i have good luck like that

Car starts fine, then gets cold. Car cranks slower but still starts. Eventually it will not even start and barely rolls over. Thought it was the battery. Changed the battery and car fires up. Drive it around and everything is fine. Try starting the car a few hours later with the same good battery, wont even crank. No clicks, nothing, like a dead ignition.

Still sitting in the yard right now. Tearin out the no-slop steering in my other RX first.

on mine it works nearly perfectly, and then one rainy or foggy day. and kaplut. i have no start. still havn't figured out exactly what it is, but i do know that spark goes nearly null. engine spins fast. and one can smell fuel. also if you take out the spark plugs they are very wet... i am pretty sure it is wiring, but unsure which wires... maybe dizzy? it eludes the hell out of me.

If youre getting a weak spark one of the first things to check is the ignitors, they are separate for the leading and trailing so be sure you check both for proper spark. If you were unaware the ignitors are mounted on the distributor and often are to blame when it comes to weak spark.

i was thinking this as well... i have an msd streetfire that i havn't installed yet, bought it a year ago, perhaps i could do that. but why would both have the same problem? perhaps bad main starter switch? or rather the rain is making it worse?

is your car doing anything else at all? like rough idle or anything on "normal" circumstances? . . . if it is check for vacuum leaks, reason said is because when mine had a vacuum leak and it rained, i had a hard time warming up the car, then while on the road every once in a while when i started to brake it would stall . . . anyways, check your ignitor grounds make sure they're clean, and have no moisture.

back from the dead.....i've got a wierd non start problem i havent yet figured out, i was driving the car normally about 30miles or so mostly highway, got off an exit to pick up my bro from work, car shut off less than .5 miles from his shop, i figured it was the plugs,(they were fouled) but still didnt start with another set, thought it was ignitors still no spark, and that's where im at now

Make sure your fusible link terminals and the terminals leading to the link box are clean. Do you have 12V to the + terminal on the coils when the ignition switch is in the on position?

hey i had the same problem and it was a cable that was stripped and sometimes when it touched metal it would turn the whole car of no crank nothing, but left it a bit and i guess the cable stopped touching and it would start till it did it again when i turned it of. check your ignition wires and the fuse wires, also check the cables in the 2 big round things that goe into the side of the car that go to the battery, sorry i forgot the name. check does cables and make sure the connection insulation is not cracked , so the sparks dont get from one side to the other. hope that helps
