The weight of the motor and wiring.

All of the years had manual windows, while GSL and GSL-SE had power. Others might of been optional.

The amount of weight that will be lost is very little. The way to lose weight is to remove the windows and regulators all together. This is not a good idea for a street car.

They weigh almost the same - its been a while, but I think the power one may have actually been lighter. Then there is the harness that might weigh 6 ounces. If your power windows work fine then there really isn't a reason to convert.

Hamster - My local track requires that you have your windows rolled up when you make a pass. Windows removed is no good...

However, my SA weighed 2210lb with A/C still installed... just removed the spare tire and jack, the rear under-carpeting (that enormous, heavy rubber/foam thing under the thin dck carpeting), and the passenger seat. (The pass seat needed out anyway because i was moving at the time ) Further weight reduction could have been had if I removed the heavy metal plate that goes over the rear seat area, removed the A/C, and used a smaller/lighter battery. All simple stuff to do. Harder and not recommended for street use is removing the inner bumper braces and the door skins.

I also had some trim panels removed in the back, but you can easily drop more weight by taking a leak before getting in the car...

Oh yeah, and I also would have gained an instant 1/2second in the quarter mile if I emptied the pounds and pounds of change out of the center console
