The amount of weight that will be lost is very little. The way to lose weight is to remove the windows and regulators all together. This is not a good idea for a street car.

They weigh almost the same - its been a while, but I think the power one may have actually been lighter. Then there is the harness that might weigh 6 ounces. If your power windows work fine then there really isn't a reason to convert.

Hamster - My local track requires that you have your windows rolled up when you make a pass. Windows removed is no good...
However, my SA weighed 2210lb with A/C still installed... just removed the spare tire and jack, the rear under-carpeting (that enormous, heavy rubber/foam thing under the thin dck carpeting), and the passenger seat. (The pass seat needed out anyway because i was moving at the time
) Further weight reduction could have been had if I removed the heavy metal plate that goes over the rear seat area, removed the A/C, and used a smaller/lighter battery. All simple stuff to do. Harder and not recommended for street use is removing the inner bumper braces and the door skins.
I also had some trim panels removed in the back, but you can easily drop more weight by taking a leak before getting in the car...
Oh yeah, and I also would have gained an instant 1/2second in the quarter mile if I emptied the pounds and pounds of change out of the center console
