Weber 48IDA on a S4 engine

I recently got a S4 engine that i want to use with a Weber 48IDA. What is needed for this conversion?

From the searches I have done, here is a list of parts I need:
Weber 48IDA carb
RB 6-port manifold
RB GSL-SE header
GSL-SE oil pan
Fuel pump (Already have)
Fuel pressure regulator + gauge(Already have)
12A distributor (Already have)
2GCDFIS w/TT (Already have)

What other parts do i need? Do I need to get some block off plates or something? I will probably premix along with using the 12A OMP, so I don't need the GSL-SE one.

I will also drill the stock mounting bar on the stock one to mount the engine.

For brakes, I am in the process of converting to the GSL-SE front brakes and rear end with GSL LSD.

Doesnt need to be an SE front cover. Any 12a single dizzy front cover will do.

A/F gauge and wideband O2 sensor. It will help sooooo much with tuning the weber.

Yeah, use the front cover off from your 12A if you have one, sounds like a good upgrade to me

Also keep in mind the 5th and 6th ports. Do you plan on using the sleeves? If so consider using the Pineapple racing inserts to smooth out the air flow some. If your not going to use the sleeves I would use some Decon to smooth out the ports thus making them a bit smaller and much more streetable/driveable. One last thing is your choice in carbs. Personally I'd stick w/ a 4 barrel Holley unless you plan on running laps then yes I would use the ida idea. The carburated s4/s5 swap was one of the best projects I have ever done. Good luck!

I dont think it applies since you'll be using an SE fmoc which already has the correct mounting bracket for an sa/fb.

I will be using it for autocross and track. Thanks for the advice on the Pineapple sleeves, didn't know about this.

I think you are referring to my sig, haha. Sorry for the confusion, this car is my brother's car that we currently share for autocross/track. I am doing the swap on a 84 with the bigger radiator, so i need to mount the oil cooler in the front.

if you are running a six port I would use a sidedraft setup like the rb dellorto 48 it just sits on top of your stock bottom intake manifold and will cost much less than an ida. I would only run the ida if you are planing to do a 4 port motor in the future. you can normally find a used dellorto setup for about $300-400

I will probably run a 4-port later on, but the engine i have does not come with the stock intake manifolds. What is the advantage of having a Dellorto instead of a IDA?

I have a question about the flywheel... Does it matter what transmission i use? I can just use a aluminum flywheel and counter weight for the S4 for the eninge right?

tranny - any 1st gen bolts up fine. 2nd gen trans are more work not worth it.

flywheel. yes, the rear counterweight must match the rotating assembly of the rotormotor. So yes, S4 rear counterweight and your coice of flywheel.

In the SCCA auto-x world, S4 motor and aluminum flywheel, that'll bump you out of stock and street prepared, I think all the way up to Mod????? Since the motor never came in your car model years. . But I bet if you run CSP no one will complain until you get into top 5 in class.

Yeah, I know about bumping into Mod, I will just use run the car locally in CSP. Can you really tell the difference between the SE 6-port and S4's?
