weber 45DCOE problems

i think it is my carb, but im not sure. right now i'm getting gas to the carb and it still wont start. i do have a rusty tank that cloggs my fuel filter, but i have a new filter on it. i also took a new line and ran it straight from the pump to the carb and i know i have gas getting there, because i didn't put a clamp on and it leaked a bit. i have some carb cleaner that i am going to try, but if that doesn't work, then i have know idea. all your help would be great--thanx

i'm pretty sure i have spark. the plugs and wires are new. i have a carter fuel pump with a holley fpr. i don't have them hooked up right now. i am getting gas with out them, but it still won't start. that's why i'm thinking it might be the carb, but it only has 5k on it. well, whatever else you have as far as help goes, that would be great--thanx

oh, i forgot to mention that it died when the fuel filter was clogged, or the line was, but before that it ran fine.

you might have got rust into the carb, the filter blockes alot of dirt but not all...time to rebuild the carb, and get a new gas tank..

just get a tank off from a parts car, or a car at a junk yard. if you rebuid your carb, but dot fix your tank, you will have the same problem

i just got done cleaning the carb, im not sure how to rebuild it, but i took it apart and cleaned out the insides. put it back together and it didn't start. im gonna have one of my buddies come over and look at it. hopefully he can figure it out. and as far as the tank goes, i have to call another guy i know and hopefully he will seal the tank for me. if you guys can think of anything else, i would greatly appreciate it. im really tired of not driving my car--thanx
