Weak Spark
Weak Spark
all right im having trouble with my REX. I have a weak spark on my trailing, and i know its not the plug... but what would be creating a weak spark ? Possibly Cap and rotor?? or maybe even the coils ?
Take a look inside the cap. If there is any sign of wear in the cap, or on the rotor then replace them. Not too costly and should be done anyway.
Next, as stated above take a hard look at the high tension and plug wires. Check for cracks, and follow the instructions in the manual or on this site for checking the resistance.
Next, check out the coil. Maybe try swapping with your leading to see if the problem moves.
But other than that, why are you even concerned about the quality of the spark in your trailing ignition? A weak spark there should not even be noticeable, and will make no difference in performance. Is this an emissions concern?

well thats the only other reason i can see for my engine not going. But the CAP and rotor are going to be done as soon as i have the cash.
and hopefully it will start. Oh and what is the stock setting for Air fuel mix?
