water leak

sorry i couldn't search my computer is f'n up right now and won't let me go into the search function....anyways i just noticed what can be a huge water leak in my car it's been raining like crazy and yesterday i drove a lot in the rain and today when i got in my car i noticed the trunk carpet soaked, and there was water in the spare wheel well, but only there, towards the front of the car it was dry, there was a bit of water near the tail light assembly but not enough i don't think to blame those, but however there was quite a bit of water to the area where the tank nozzle goes through, my theory is that water is being thrown in there from the rear wheel, but i'm not sure, so my question is what are some common leak places for the rear of the car, so i can inspect everything and try to pinpoint my leak. thanks.

Sunroof lines run through to the side plastic vents near the small hatch glass on each side.

The wet trunk area can be because the holes on the bottom runner where the glass sits are clogged, or the plastic lines are cracked/broken.

seems like my pc finally works again ...(have you ever had a mouse **** up?...yeah that's what it was switched to a different mouse and bam like new) .... anyways i've checked the drain lines they're good, a bit stiff but no cracks no leaks, checked the sunroof drain those are good also no plugs nor anything ...... the only thing that i'm thinking off is the hatch weatherstrip, but i don't see any water going in between the glass and the strip....

the other thing is that i never resealed the little holes on the hatch after i took off the emblems (yeah i know stupid) but i know from testing that it doesn't let enough water in to build a pool out of the wheel well....i don't have a clue of what it could be, i've been out there with a water hose spraying everything, and also checking out the rain trying to figure it out, but i can't see it, yet water keeps getting in so it's not what i thought it would be at first (the area where the gas tank nozzle goes).

If it makes you feel any better...

I am about to go out and find why it did this, doing some water tests. Want me to do some pictures for you?

wow i'm not alone, hooray for hurricanes!! lol, uh pictures would be nice, i found 2 leaks so far, like i said no water is going through the two wholes where the emblems go in the passenger rear side, it started raining, lightly, and went outside took out all the rear panels basically, lifted all the carpets, and laid there just looking everywhere for leaks (managed to snap two pics before my camera went dead again lol)

this is in that little corner on the passengers side close to the drain hole...that junction of metal needs some sealer or something

this is on the passengers tail light assembly, obviously i didn't check hard enough it seems to be going in through there a little bit faster

these are the only two leaks i've found thus far, everywhere else seems dry, i guess the water was going over to the drivers side since the car is tilted a little bit where it sits....i still think that these are not big enough to let that much water in almost filled up the whole wheel well, but it was raining pretty hard and constantly for the past 24 hrs lol

Looks like you would need some tail light gaskets.

I have pictures of what I did, basically I slowly poured water down the hatch so it pooled up where the drain plugs are, and looked to see if it drained. Only the left one drained some water out, but it trickled out and not "peed" out like they need to. So got my air compressor fired up, blew all the crap out of the lines, and checked for cracks. No cracks, did the water trick again, car pissed all over the garage floor.

Pictures if you need them.

So to confirm here:
The TWO drain holes that run along the bottom of the hatch are:
a) cleared
b) actually HOOKED UP to the hoses in behind the back panel and
c) the hoses are properly exiting out of the car under the bumper

Pull up the weatherstripping across the bottom of the hatch. There is a metal lip that the weatherstrip slips over. If there are rust holes in this lip water leaks into the car even when the drains are clear.

yes i did all of that before even posting this thread, i found leaks on both sides on the corners yes there was a bit of rust added some temporary sealer (aka caulking lol) should work until either i get a new weatherstrip or decide to break down and resand and reseall all them spots on the rear. i also went ahead and sealed off the tailight assembly, i lightly looked over the prices on the tailight gaskets on blackdragon and well there weren't any for 85, but the sa's were about 40 bucks so i decided to correctly install rear gaskets (previous owner did a **** job) and added some of that make your own gasket crap on it, it should hold off for a while, until i get some money or something.
