Brake light on, all times.

Well, of late my brake warning light has been on all the time, first thing I did was check my fluid level, which was fine. I've seen my brake lights in chrome bumpers at lights, so I know those work. The only thing left is that I don't have an e-brake as of right now, PO swapped a GS diff into it replacing a SE, (which I'll be replacing with my SE off my other car), and never got the parking brake going. The handle is all the way down, but I'm thinking maybe the sensor on that decided to die? Anyone have any other ideas?

It's either that, or your proportioning valve is failing, but that would usually only show up when you brake. Or the checker circuit has failed closed.

Or you've got a short somewhere; it's a "pull to ground" circuit.

Check each of you brake light bulbs. I have seen old bulbs do weird things.

Check the float in the master cylinder reservoir and make sure it is not stuck in the down position.
