w00t! 13x7 Revolution style 4 spokes!

I scored a heck of a deal today:

13x7 Revolution 4 spoke wheels in 4x110mm!

These are going to look so pimp wrapped in my new set of 205/60/13 A048R's!

I'm so stoked that I had to share. The wheels shipped this evening and should be here in a couple of weeks. Pictures of them mounted on the car to follow.

well, now that i look at them again i do like em a little... i'm a bigger fan of five spokes. But those are cool. Could use a repaint though.

I have a set of those and have not found a decent set of street tires for them. More specs on your tires please. i.e., price, type, use, source. Thanks.

Errr, these Yokohamas are R compound tires. One of the members of our Solo II club is a long-haul truck driver and has some connections with a spec racing series in the US that used the A048R this year as their spec tire. Teams typically used one set for lapping/qualifying and then discarded them in favor of a new set. As a consequence there were several sets available for a very cheap price with better than 80% treadwear remaining. You can get them new at tirerack.com or tiretrends.com. If a 215/50/13 set was available I'd have snapped them up as that size would be ideal for a 13x7. 205's aren't bad tho. Since my car is only driven in the summer months, a set of R's in a medium compound will last me all year, even after 10-15 autocross events.

So far as street tires go, you can get the Sumitomo HTR 200 in 215/50/13 at the two websites I listed above. They're a very good street level tire and have decent stick. Their main drawback is a fairly mushy sidewall and a tendency for the tread to cup when abused. I've run a few sets of Sumitomos over the years and I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a decent street tire that won't see hard driving.

When I got my Revolutions, they had Hoosier Autocross tires, 225/45D/13. Had no luck on websites finding a street tire that size. And I don't know poop about tires. My bother-in-law managed a Discount Tire and took care of me. Told him what I wanted for purpose/performance in a tire, been very happy with his choices. I probably should sell my set as I doubt I will be using them for the track, unless I put on my slicks for the strip.

Thanks for the info.

Trochoid: What size of wheel lugs do you need to run these wheels? The seller I got mine from didn't include the lug nuts and I'm not sure what size to order. If you have any idea, please let me know.

Thanks!

The wheels came with shank nuts, my neighbor gave me a set of studs that went on a VW.
Studs are threaded from each end and have an allen slot on the long thread side.
Threads are spilt 1" and a 1/2", short side going into the hubs.
Shank nuts are are 2" long from the base of the hex to the tip, not counting the washer. Sorry for the crappy pic.
