vented hood pics - see inside

Here's the ROUGH buck. We're still going to work it over so the vents are smoother and the surface will be sanded to a glass-like finish before we go to final mould. It at least shows the shape and you can see where the vents will be cut.

Damn those vents are enourmous. Looks sweet. Once you cut the vents out are you putting some kind of mesh screen in or just leaving them open? like lotus said, when are they gonna be for sale?

Vent or open will be left up to the customer, who can cut vents to suit. Some want three stacked slits, some want vertical slits, some want open holes, some want mesh screened holes, etc.

It's taking a lot longer thna I'd anticipated but I'd rather wait and have a product I'm proud of. I expect to have it mold-ready by next Wednesday, but then there's laying up a few prototypes, painting them, test fitting, alterations, etc.

That's brilliant! I'm in the market for a hood. I've been debating the Mariah Hood, side skirts and Mode 4 front air dam, prior to new paint and body side mouldings. Now, I have to make a decision as really admire your work! It looks fantastic. I'm looking forward to the production order status.

The buck is actually painted - black, so we can see the flaws that need fixing.

painted, is the only way to be able to see the flaws.. looks good man. i sure hope you've test fitted that one,, looks a little flat in the front, between the headlights. that curve tries to flatten out. for alignment i used wooden dowls to mark the position of the hinge bolts. a steady , landmark, starting point or referance point..

Manntis, are you saying thats the 'buck' and now your going to use that to build the mould around. your still building the mould ?

i'd like to see what the underdside looks like...

progress,,forward.

once the buck is flawless we cast the mould from it - the mould itself won't take long at all
