Value of my 79 Rx-7
Gentlemen:
I am interested in finding a value for my stored 1979 Rx-7. It is the limited edition. Black, show car paint. Garaged its entire life. All the emblems (front hood, back, side front quarter panels, and limited edition) are new. Engine is a 13B with 25K miles replaced after the original smaller engine. Engine has a complete Jacobs ignition, Holley 600 cfm, headers. Mags are the originals including the spare. Tires are in good shape (Kelley's). Five speed tranny. New am/fm/cd to replace the original unit (clarion). Has had seat covers since new so the seats are in good shape as is the rest of the interior.
Car runs great and has had all the maintenance kept on time throughout the life of the car. No damage or repair to any area of the car.
Any assistance you can give as to the value of the car and the best way and place to market it. I have pictures if it will be worth the time and effort to sell.
Thank you in advance.

Well with pictures and actually seeing the car it's hard to say but $3000 is the upper end of what you're looking at. This board is a terrible place to ask because it's infested with cheapskates. Don't listen to the above two posters, I would pay $3000 for a SA in good condition.
If I had the money, that is.

What is NADA going to do for a car that is no longer orginal. Although a 13b engine is perfered upgrade for most Rx-7 owners, a collectors price would not consider it desireable if the car is no longer stock. Also to get a 5 speed in there, somebody had to do some cutting right?
Something is worth only what somebody is willing to pay for it.

my '79 has a 5 speed, stock tranny. just if you want to put a later model tranny in do you have to modify it, and then you just change the shifter tunnels.

I have a 79. How many LE were there made? I would say it is worth alot just have to find the right person. If u found me last year i might have paid 2000 if the car was mint. Posting your car outside this forum will get u a better price but if u want the car to go to someone that will take care of it then posting it on this forum might be better. I ve been offered up to $3000 by people on the street. I m not ready to sell it but if i got a bit more i might let it go. But anyhow lets see them pics. Oh and by the way i also have a 5 speed it was an option i believe on the 79's but i think they are rare.

what it is worth and what you will get is 2 different things, I think thats what the guys here are saying...
Id say its probally worth more to you than it is worth in dollars, so I would keep it , you not gonna get rich off it... Id say 1500-2000 tops if you are lucky
