Ok, you removed the air pump. Did you already have the replacement belt mentioned in the FAQ tutorial thread? Also, does your 79 still have the catalytic converter or not? I understand that if it still has the converter that runing it without the air pump may cause the converter to plug up. This may end up giving you another headache to deal with. Someone more knowledgeable in this area may be able to either agree or correct me on this point.

You need the 3L220 belt it goes to your fan after you remove the air pump. I got mine at napa. I cant tell what is in your pix, but if you take what is left to the napa or auto zone they might be able to hook you up. Be very careful not to break any of the solenoids when removing hoses. The ones with the colored dots on them. also look at them carefully some are the same and some aren't I kept the ones that were the same as the AC solenoid as spares. There is allot of old brittle plastic under there. some of it can be replaced with metal fittings.

Sterling, I eagerly look forward to the day I can get one of your carbs!

If you are following the tutorial that Spottedfrog pointed out to you you would have known about the belt and already had one in your possesion as it is listed in the Shopping List as one of the things that you are supposed to have BEFORE you begin the mods!
