Sorry if we said something that sounded like we took offense. Was it me?
The guide that Moses gave you is a very detailed tutorial on how to remove them, and is the one we all follow.
As for my statement, I was just explaining that it's a bad idea to remove them in MI if you have smog narcs.
If you do, then just replace each line that goes from the nest to the motor/dizzy/whatever.
No hard feelings, really. We're a laid back bunch here, so let's all get along.

yeah craigt, nobody got offended. Moses gave you the link that answers your questions and told you to go kill some trees, in reference to something you will find in that link. You'll see.

There is a complete diagram for the '85 model year online though, at http://www.wankel.net/~krwright/cars/rx7/manuals.html
The difficulty is that there is a different number of vaccum solenoids on the '85 vs the '82, and consequently, the routing is not the same. If you don't have to get the car emissions checked, I'd yank the lot as per the tutorial I posted above. It doesn't serve any other purpose but to clean up the emissions, which is irrelevant unless you need to get it checked, or you're a hippy.
If the latter is true, then a RX-7 really isn't for you.

We do not have emissions testing in Michigan...
I highly recommend following the tutorial for the removal of the "rat's nest". It really cleans things up and eliminates a whole bunch of items that could cause potential problems like vacuum leaks. I have done this and my car runs much better, and dare I say, even "cleaner" than before.
