turbo oil question.

i was wondering what all you turbo guys have done as far as an oil return line. i know it needs to be about -10 or -12 AN and i plan on tapping it into the front cover. but how did you attach the return to the turbo.. can i use the stock stainless line, and some sort of flange?? how would i go from a flange to a SS line...my feed lineis a ss line braised(sp?) to the hardline with the flange. but theres no way in hell i could do that.

so heres what i want to do, i want a ss line to go to the front cover, but i dont know how i would attach it to the flanged part that connets to the turbo.

thanks,

Mine will not apply to you since I just tapped the rear oil drain on the REW engine.

I talked to a few people about this before I decided on going with a REW though. The part of the front cover can be drilled through. Then get a bulk head fitting and slip it though the front cover. Make sure that there are 2 washers on either side of the bulk head fitting so that the oil will not leak. Then install oil pan and you are good to go.

Hope this helps...

I tapped the front for a 1/2" NPT barbed fitting. If you can find a steel barb, preferably 90/120*, you can weld it to the oem flange, after you remove the braided line. That's my tightass, creative way. Another option is to have a thicker flange made for the turbo and tap it for NPT or AN fittings.

How about Rotary Shack's turbo drain flange's? I dont have any experience with it but this looks like what you're talking about. http://www.rotaryshack.com/Products/...sp?intView=100
