Can someone help me with a turbo for my 12A.

I cant find one anywhere!! I think that not many people turbocharge 1st gens but i want to try

why not port it, or get the 13b turbo?

 

there have been a few posts in the past week on this try a search

 

because a company made a turbo kit in the 80's and it boosted the 12a to 250 rwhp. that is from 100 w/o anything else.

 

wow, that's impressive.
how expensive? how reliable?
(was it for a street rx-7, or race only?)

 

not sure. someone on here had a pic on another turbo thread just recently. i just found the ad in some old literature the guy that sold it had in his rx7 file. cartech i believe was the company. they're still around but do mainly mustang stuff. they sold their remaining kits to redline performance in cali years ago.

 

oh yeah, street legal.

If you are looking to do a Cartech kit, I wish you the best of luck. I have been working on my 12a setup for about 3 months now and don't have much. Still looking to get a mani out of OZ, and bite the bullet for a custom exhaust. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

thats what i've felt. its going to be a bitch to get my hands on one.

 

I see em every once in a while on ebay or thepartstrader.com, they usualy go for a good price, but not too bad. They seem to never have all the parts though.

 

-try South Florida Performance for a turbo manifold.
turbos are easy to come by.. the carb and cap for the carb is hardder to find than the turbo manifold itself.
-besides that , everything else is basicly stright foward.
