True supercharging/turbocharging
I have reciently heard of the electric superchargers and I too thought that it was a big hoax. Then I got to thinking (good and bad). What if you took off the stock airbox and made a custom air intake system that bent right into the carb. and had welded tubes coming off that main pipe going into the carb for the extra stuff (ie. Vaccum, emmision, etc.). The other end would have a filter on the end of it and be bent so it could be made into a cold air intake like many others have done (cut a hole into the front panel and tube goes in to get fresh, cold air. Now is where the fun begins. You then cut another hole in the center of the long pipe connecting the actual intake area to the part that goes to the carb. Then you weld a pipe to that where this electric supercharger would go. Finally, you place a very large one-way valve on the main air intake (right before the filter). Now when you were to allow the electric supercharger to run, the pressure would be pushed right down into the carb. This is just a thought. Maybe this could work.

actually some thing like this has been done before.
I read an article in "car craft" about a supercharger setup that forces air into a sealed airbox over the carb.

What "electric supercharger" are you thinking about? 99% of them are crap.
Read this article on them.

most of the 'electric supercharger's on ebay are actually marine bilge pumps meant to flush water & other wastes from the lower parts of a boats hull.

I have no idea which one I am talking about. All I know is that they are a large fan that is run by the battery that draws air in and pushes it into the engine for "easier" flow. I believe I saw it on e-bay, but I don't think that the battery could supply enough power to turn a fan that fast in order to get boost into the engine.
