I'm putting a 79 12a into a 85 gsl se and i need to know if my motor and clutch will bolt up to the trans that is already in it?

The good news is, it should be pretty straight forward. There's even a hole through the firewall for you to run the choke cable, and a blank in the dash for the choke ****.

The bad news is you're putting a 12A into a GSL-SE

 

yeah but my 79 runs great but body and inside is in bad shape and found a gsl se with full body kit and no motor cheap. the paint and everything is an great shape so for the price i was going to upgrade to gsl se brakes and suspention anyways so i get all the ups of the se cheap

 

That transplant sounds like transbland. Good luck though.

 

well... you get all the 'ups', but put the weakest engine in the heaviest FB...

Still, if you have the engine and the chassis it does frankenstein two non-running 1st gens into one working one for a low cost.

 

if the 12a runs good put it in. You pretty much wil have a gsl with an lsd, bigger rear brake disks, and they are all vented. I would cut the se of of your emblems lol jk. Go for it if u can!!!
