Does anybody know where I can buy this plug for the transmission? Some how it came off. I never saw a leak anywhere and I really don't know how the hell it came off, what is its importance? I just noticed while I was under my car.

That hole shouldn't leak fluid unless you have a rear main oil seal leak on the engine or a front cover leak on the transmission. Even if the cover comes off you shouldn't have fluid in there. I believe that it is just an inspection hole so you can see the flywheel teeth, clutch, starter engagement, etc.

Yeah I had to edit my post because just the front of my car was up giving the misconception of low fluid due to all of it moving towards the back lol

Know where I can get the plug at?

I'm not sure if Mazdatrix had then or not, but I could use two of them myself.

Best bet would be to find used ones, and those will be hard to come by unless you find them in a part out.

Inspection hole. Mine got pretty torn up using wood to support the transmission sitting on that nice flat bottom - right where the inspection hole and rubber plug were.

If you can't find a plug to fit, you could likely clean the hell out of it and slap some duct tape over the hole. Yes, I just recommended duct tape on an RX7 - a first for me.

Later bellhousings have a vent cast into the side. How different is a side vent from an inspection hole on the bottom? What I'm saying is you could probably leave it open and not experience too many downsides.

I'm just worried about rain water and other debris getting into the hole.
