Rear axle gear swap questions

I have a couple questions for those who have played with the rear axle ratio on their cars. Is the Sportage front gear set able to be bolted onto the RX7 differential assembly? Also, I have read that the B2200 rear axle is the same as the RX7, however I also read somewhere that there is a different spline count for what I assume is the axles.

Reason I am asking is that I have a B2200 with a rotary, and I am running the stock 3.909 B2200 rear gearing, S4 RX7 transmission & gearing, and 205/70R15 tires, which I am turning way too low RPM (2000RPM at 60MPH). I have heard of using the RX7 differential assemblies in the B2200 and also people installing the Sportage front differential gearing into the RX7, so theoretically, I can run the Sportage gears in my truck, which would be perfect gearing. It gets confusing because I read in some threads about different gearing that they list the B2600 axle as a candidate, which is a larger axle, and same differential as a Turbo II car from what I read.

I might have to locate a front axle from a Sportage and see, I have a spare rear axle from my truck too.

Read the drivetrain section of Solomiata and all will be clear.

Spline count seemed to vary by year, not chassis.

I finally got notice that a 2001 Sportage is at our local wreckers, planning a trip tomorrow to get a set of gears, but I decided to take my spare axle apart to see what I have. According to the SoloMiata site, I should have the 7.5" ring gear with 26 spline axles. I do have 26 spline axles, however, I seem to have a 7" ring gear. I attached a pic of the ring gear with a measuring tape over it. Apparently, the rear of the Sportage is a 7.5", but 28 spline, so I will need to swap the ring gear over, but the front diff is a 7", which is what I seem to have. I want to confirm that I am measuring this ring gear correctly so I know what diff to pull lol.
