Talking "TRANNY" So Clean You Can Eat Off oF IT...

I did two tranny cleans in two days...the first tranny clean was the original tranny that came out of the car after i changed out the throw out, clutch and press...threw all back in cleaned and **** to find out the tranny is fucked...

Went to the yard the next day on a sunday during the rain at ecology pulled another tranny in the mud, water, and rain, took it home that same day and cleaned it too...Didn't take picture's till it was installed in the car...

what you all think...crazy **** huh...and doing all this tranny swap and cleaning's in the rain

When the owner brought the car by to me he had complained that the throw out bearing was making noise and was on it's way out...

So when he came by i test drove the car with him in the car...We went around the block...and yes the throw out bearing was thrashed and making noise, clutch was slipping/losing feeling and was not engaging to well...

As we were driving back into my drive-way it didn't want to go into first, second third, and forth...i practically had to slam it into 2nd to get the car to roll...

So the next day i went ahead and dropped the tranny...he told me to check the clutch as well since the tranny was off...I did, and the clutch had little to no life left on it, and the press plate was thrashed too...

Went ahead put a new clutch, press, new throw out, new seals and gaskets on the tranny and cleaned it up and threw it all back in...Thinking in my head that it was the clutch...now with everything having new parts this car should run like a dream...Wrong tranny had broken teeth in it, and it could be heard just shaking around in the tranny after everything was said and done and the car was sitting there at idle...still didn't want to go into gear...clutch fluid was drained, filled and bleed, still nothing...

Went to the junk yard the next day pulled a tranny in the rain, mud, and water from ecology cleaned it up, dropped the old one, threw the new one in, and everything ran cherry...

LOL...

The first tranny that came out of the owners car took me about an hour...Taking into consideration that the the motor and tranny and the chassis only have about 90k orginal miles on all parts...

the second tranny took me a little longer about an hour and Forty-five mins....the **** was caked onto that one really good

Its a lot easier if you take the tranny off the block. Then you can set it on its bell housing and work from the top down cleaning as you go. Make sure to use some boards under the bell housing so its not sitting on the input shaft. Also seal it with some clear coat. I didn't do that and now the tranny is starting to get all speckled but its in there now. Next time I'll take my own advice

Yeah i have been meaning to pull it off the block....but my ankle is messed up and its been really cold the last few days so i have barely messed with it. That picture is from today...its finally a little warmer but my ankle is still hard to walk on.
