If you've got the lower gears, time to find another trans, its toast.

Robert is very good, you can check eBay and the parts for sale sections for cheap deals, however Robert probably warranties his parts.

Check your 5th and reverse switches that are screwed into the tranny housing. That may account for 5th and reverse. Have you heard a grinding, sounds like sand being ground up? I had a similiar problem, turned out the pilot bearing had itself for lunch. Once it was sufficiently ground up, the tranny shifted fine.

Never had a problem with it until I installed a new clutch, then I had a terrible vibration. without the pilot bearing, the input bearing had worn, once the new pilot bearing was installed, the vibration showed up.

trochoid, did you install the pressure plate with the two alignment bolts through the slightly smaller holes?

Jeff, if you are refering to the alighment pins, yes, the pp was mounted on them and the 2 longer shank bolts were in the correct holes. This was on my 2nd gen. I had the same problem with the 2nd tranny I installed, the 3rd one fixed it, but it has weak 2nd gear synchros. I have 9 trannys sitting in the basement of the shop.
