mechanical secondaries question
Well I did the mod, works wonderfully. I can really notice the power. I also noticed that after I did the mod my car has a lope to it now. I dont know what the deal is, this happen to anyone else? Kinda feels like is flooding maybe, but the 0-60 time is much (MUCH) better. I dont understand this. Should I ajust the float? Another weird thing is it ideled at about 1600 be4 this and now its down to 1,000-1,100. I mean the mod works great but it sound like I have a BIG *** cam in it now....Anyone know what the deal could be?

Well, if you accelerate so that the secondaries open before you have reached around 4k rpm, you will be overkilling it - the engine does not need that much flow at low rpms. You have to re-educate yourself as far as how you accelerate.
Did you ever find the vacuum leak you were looking for?

yeah, what he said. Its all in your control now, no more blaming the car.
And about your idle, it should really be less than 1k rpm anyway, so this is actually an improvement.

Yeah the RPM gauge is weird, some times 2k most the time less. No I spent 6 hours looking over the hoses and nothing. I think the carb is just a POS. I dont understand the rest tho. I dive like I i did be4 the mod but the car lopes for some reason. and it runs fine if im not siting still, its when i stop and sit that it starts. hmmm maybe i should just take it off.
