Recommend redline synthetic, you will notice a smoother shift from the gear box and it will give it better protection against heat.

Not a bad idea! Redline MT & MT-90, Royal Purple Syncromesh, Amsoil, Mobil 1, Valvoline, dino.........

Need a seperate poll for tranny and diff. Many experienced racers swear the synthetic oil in the trannys cause premature failure. I have had good luck with MT & MT-90, I actually mix the two, 1 qt of each.

The gsl and the gsl-se have a limited slip so they need an additive for that.

In my old Z cars, I always used a 50/50 mix of Lucas oil and automatic tranney fluid. The detergents in the atf are very good at cleaning out the synchros. If your tranny has any issues with slow shifts or stiff synchros, I highly recommend this. This was a tip out of "How to hotrod and race your datsun" and stated years of success.

i have heard that if you have always run mineral oil, then switch to synthetic, that it will dry out the rubber gaskets and seals. anyone else heard of this or am i totally off?

use amsoil 75-90 and their sliplock additive.

synthetic oil will not dry out seals, in fact any bottle of amsoil SAYS it is completely compatible with any dino oil. so you can mix without any problems. people are all, OOOoOoohhhh your gonna blow up your motor@@!!!

if a synthetic oil is is not worth it in terms of actual protection, why in the world is every oil company out there creating their own "form" of a synthetic, or a blend? cauz it's superior

dot 5 brake fluid base is silicone so the rubbers, plastics etc they SAY have to be changed bla bla

Synthetic Oil/Lube has a higher heat barrier before thermal break down (where all those additives you can’t see break down and essentially kill your engine).

I've used Synthetic in the RX7 and never saw any bad signs; I also was using 2 Stroke with the OMP disabled too as per Racing Beat's instructions.

In an automatic transmission, you heat up that fluid and you’re risking complete failure.

My 194Kmile '82 tranny would grind going into 2nd on quick shifts. I switched to Redline to see if it would save me a rebuild, and I have no trouble at all now. Much less notchy in all gears, and it always goes into reverse first time now.

2 quarts of MT-90, and forget about it for 100,000 miles.

BTW AMSOIL now has an MT fluid ala Redline, and it's quite a bit less expensive. I have used and been a dealer of AMSOIL products forever but they have never had an MT product before. I'm going to try it. Link here: http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/mtg.aspx
I can get if for anyone that needs it and doesent have access to a local dealer.
