Tire sizes and choices. Input needed

I have an 85 that has been sitting for about 10 years. The tires were replaced right before the car was parked with 205/60r13 Grand Sport Radial G/t with so much tread but completely dry rotted. The car also came with two used RWL BFGoodrich T/A I believe. They will prolly just pass inspection though.

I would like to get a 205/60r13 but I can only seem to find the Dean Stinger GTS.They are summer tires and I dont know how they are going to handle all year around. I messaged one user on this forum and he was not too happy.

I am also considering the Sumitomo HTR T4 in a 185/70r13 size http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes As the popular HT 200 are no longer available. But have read a few reviews and buyers were happy.

I have seen other tire discussion threads here but the choices seem to be getting more slim every few months. I would like to have the 205/60s, but it looks like 185/70 is it. A tire that is going to handle well in all weather and is all around decent. I dont want performance tires. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

(Oh and I know that at the end of the day it's just tires ...but you all know how it is :-)

Thanks in Advance!

Very recently I was in the search for tires as well for similar reasons. The 79 I got about a month ago needed new tires since they were dry rotted and likely wouldn't have passed inspection. Up here in Canada, 205/60R13 tires are extremely hard to come by, I only found 2 stores that sold the same tire and it wasn't any thing special. The cost is what got me though, $125 roughly per tire. Whats worse, any real good tire in a 185/70R13 was nearly as expensive, some being as much as $150. It seems that the tires us 1st gen owners are looking for are going to become extinct sooner than we want, leaving only specialty tires for ungodly amounts of money.

i wasn't looking for a performance tire when i got the stingers. since i drive it every day, tread wear is what i look for. when asked how they handled, i compare them to the sumitomo's i had on it in 2010 when i went to dgrr. this yrs dgrr was with the stingers. the sumi's were better. since we rarely get snow, i might not see how they do in it. if we do i'm sure they'll do just fine. other than that, their fine for what i needed new tires for.

Okay cool, yeah I think I am going to go with the stingers. I found some other people running them on different cars and were happy. I like the RWL and that they are wider than 185s. I spent $1300 on 35" Mickey Thomson MTZ for my Jeep and I did barely any research compared to how I am with only like 350-$400 in tires for the Mazda lol. More than likely I will be ordering the Stingers and can finally put my hours of rediculous research to bed.

Thanks guys!
