Timken Seal Cross-Refence - - lots of good data.

http://www.timken.com/en-us/products...1989_older.pdf

The PDF file at that link, from Timken Seals, has a detailed section covering Mazda rear-wheel drive cars including first-gens. Pages 379 to 382 on the PDF (369 to 372 based on document page numbers).

As more and more parts become NLA from Mazda & even aftermarket sources like Rock Auto start trimming back their lines, having a mfg part number for the part opens up opportunities - - it's likely that a NAPA or other source that carries Timken parts could order any of these seals, and many of them are not individually available these days.

Just putting it out there.

Here's one I've been chasing for a while, wasn't on the Timken list & no parts house has been able to find it for me.

SA Steering Gearbox lower shaft oil seal: (This is the seal on the steering box, just above the Pitman arm.)

Original Koyo part number: MHSA 30428

Generic seal nomenclature: 30x42x8 TC, NBR

Got me some on order from Applied Industrial Supply in Anaheim because I can pick them up tomorrow, but can be ordered off the internet with that generic number for about $4 each.

Beauty!

oh nice! yes some parts are tricky, even the rear wheel bearings are tough to find for the small axle cars

If someone wants to pull the relevant data out of that pdf and post it, I'll archive this thread. We don't want to lose that info if the pdf ever disappears.

Here are just the Mazda pages. I was going to pull it out manually but this is much cleaner.

http://www.multiupload.com/OXJG5UOYQ5

I couldn't upload it to the site though. Its 113kb and zipping it only drops it by a k.

So, someone needs to put it on their site.
