Timing Problems
Hello,
I'm having trouble timing my 12A that I just rebuilt. I positioned the flywheel correctly and I pretty sure I set up the timing marks and distributor in the correct positions. The problem is the closer I get to the marks, the rougher it runs. Any ideas or tips? I wanna get it running!
Oh since the pulley with the marks can be put on 4 different ways is it possible for it to be off but still have the marks lining up, even with the flywheel pointing in the right direction?
Thank you

Yeah I double checked them and they seem to be right. But I was looking at the T and L wires going to the coils and the previous owner had written T on the left coil and L on the right coil. I was thinking though, if t1 is on the left of the engine, shouldn't leading go before trailing? There are no marks besided the ones the previous owner made and my book doesn't say anything. So my question is does leading wire go on the left or right coil?

If you are standing on the driver side of the car facing the coils, one is on the left one is on the right, thats what I meant by left and right. So the trailing is closest to the front of the car and the leading is closest to the steering wheel then I guess the wires aren't the problem it is something else.
