TII tranny to 12a tranny linkage

I know how to remove a shift linkage from a 12a and the rear part of the tranny cover. My question now is.. is that rear tranny cover able to fit a TII tranny and mount right into the car then? Is there a modification to the rear of the tranny to nessessary. Just wondering, because I may be able to get a TII tranny. Also does the splines line up with a 12a drive shaft too? This info would be great so to simplify the conversion.

The tailhousing is *not*, repeat, *not* swappable onto the T2 transmission. The T2 transmission is a completely different transmission, which is why it's desirable, as pretty much anything is better than the N/A transmission.
