Thermo fan/engine bay pics
While I was putting my new radiator in I decided to change my thermo's from pushers to pullers. Here's some pics I took...

Awesome Job Revhead! You have one of the nicest engine bays I have ever seen for a street car.
Yes, please give us some details. I unfortunately will not be able to use the Black Magic fan with built in shroud in my car. It's too deep. A combination of a 13B engine, A/C and Power Steering keep the P/S Pulley in the way of the fan.
I have been thinking of smaller duals like yours. Do you know what the specs are on them? As well as the depth?
Thanks.

It's actually Davies-Craig. They make thermo-fans, clutch-fans, electric water pumps etc and the quality of all their products is top notch. Pretty much everyone here uses their ****. Website is at www.daviescraig.com.au
Mine are the 10inch items.

I know you have the 12 inch ones, and they seem about the right sizes for me.
However, they seem to be well over $130 US dollars each!
Revhead, if you can, - please confirm which models you have installed, as yours look like a perfect fit across the radiator using two of them.
Thanks.

I already posted it above... they're the 10inch ones.
And yep, they fit perfectly on the radiator. All it required was some minor trimming of the radiator brackets. What rad. are you using anyway? The one in the pic is just the 'tall' 1st gen radiator right?
BTW, the price listed on the site for the 10inch fan is $80 US.

Got Boost?
Still according to their data, one 10inch fan (dcsl10)moves only about 700cfm max, where the black magic flex-a-lite fan moves 2800cfm, you'd have to have four of them to match the air-flow.

Thanks Revhead and Fatboy7.

DF, go with the Davies-Craig 16inch thermo. It's also a pretty good fit for 1st gen rads and flows about what you're looking for.
I'm going with twin 10s soon though. For the 13BT too.
REVHED - A white 1st gen... Excellent.
Nice looking engine bay too.

It's too deep also. I need fans no deeper than 2.5 to 3 inches max, with similar output (combined)

Yea for a close to stock setup, I'm sure its fine, but I think DF is going to have a little harder time keeping things cool, with both A/C, PS, the MSD boxes, and that huge IC in front... the 16" one might work out... barring that it is compact enough.

The 16" fan is 100mm deep, so I guess that rules it out.
I think you'll have a hard time finding something to fit. Have you considered mounting them on the front of the rad? Although if your keeping you A/C that won't work either I guess.
Damn. Good luck.

nice setup Revhed!
one question for you or Adsy01 or anyone else with that setup. have you casually noticed any elevated underhood temps? not necessarily actual engine/coolant temps, i'm speaking more of when you open the hood, if you get the same feeling as when open a bag of popcorn just out the microwave or does the hood make you want to swear when you touch it? i'm just curious ... i think i'd put this on my wish list.
again ... nice pics. nice, clean setup ... i'm green!

I looked carefully, and I think I have the wrong one, one that goes out too far. I am going to check a couple of places, but I think if I get the correct pulley, my clearance problem might just go away after all (albeit it will still be close).
I'll keep you guys posted. The car should be off the jackstands by the end of the week.
Fuel system is complete, and driveshaft is ready to be picked up. Only thing left will be the Haltech wiring and a good once-over, to make sure everything is fine.
I want to be able to drive it to Rotorfest 2003 in Gainesville.
