First few things to start is this, change your spark plugs, change your oil, oil filter, and check your timing if you have a timing gun. Since I did the direct fire setup all of my smoking and bad mpg when away. However, I do recommed you do a full tune up and check to see if it still give you bad mpg. I personaly think your spark plugs and wires, and oil will do that. I put also Lucas Oil Stabilizer and that helps with smoking as well. Also the filer K&N helps with dry starts and specialy when using Lucas Oil Stabilizer. Anyways hope any of this info helps.

ok, the fuel is making it to the carb, but the cart isnt putting out anything. i believe the carb is the heart of most of my problems so im thinking about getting a new one, depending on the price. whats a good carb(new, or rebuilt, i dunno) for a good price, and that gets good milage? thanks for all your help thus far.

still pondering upon the problem, but new evidence has been found. The car has always flooded its self at high revs(right before shift point), and would blow smoke at high speeds, and act alomst like that the motor almost cut off(think now that it is flooding out). when i got in it the last time it would not crank up, had recently noticed an oil leak, checked the oil a couple of times and it was always full at the dipstick. i think now after checking the plugs they are gas fouled, and oil level is above full, meaning gas is in the oil(not good). could be the reason for my 10 miles to the gallon. Other than removing the carb and rebuilding it, is there anything else that would cause this flooding over... is there a solenoid valve or float stuck that would contribute to this problem. just trying to get some ideas before i take the carb off.

68, how's the Falcon doing? That's a damn nice car, got some historical value and you said yours was running. I'd fix that car in a minute if I had one.

Ray
