steering wheel

i cant seem to get the steering wheel off of car. i took the bolt off that was under the horn. is there some sort of catch toi taking it off?

3-6-9-12

Best way to get the wheel off is using these positions. put your hands @
the 9 and 3 oclock positions holding the wheel. push in and out alternating
your arms and then switch to the 12 and 6 positions it will come off.

NO! NO! NO! NO! dont do that you will end up braking your nose when it comes lose...lol and we will have to give you a .....thred the nut back on. 1/4 to 1/2 way so there is something to stop the streeing will besides your face or get a streeing wheel puller good luck

ok so i tried the pull pull pull thing... didnt work. io dont have my haynes manual right now, but, i am able to pushing the steering wheel in and out, did i unscrew everything? the rode that it is connected to goes in and out when i push and pull...i'm thinking i didnt unscrew something somewhere.....any clues?

i tried wiggling mine side to side to get it out, and the damn thing wouldnt budge at all, i did a 12-6 attempt and it popped right off!

wackyracer, where is that located on the column? that second pic doesnt make much sense and i've been trying to figure a way to fab up something to replace that part that a previous owner broke
