Tax Return, what to do.

Well, I'm thinking with my tax return, I'm going to get some 15x7 Kosei K1's and new tires, probly Falken's (sp). Along with the RB suspension kit, and a new oil cooler. I know the front will only hold a 205/50, will a 215/50 or a 215/45 fit on the rear? I did a search, but most people just run the 205/50. I was wondering about a wider rear tire, because of Autox and i've got a mild SP. The rear end has a tendency to kick out on me, even when I adjust the tire pressure.

Thanks in advance

I'd keep the tire sizes the same and focus on the suspension to cure your oversteer problems. Check out RX7Carl's site for a low/no buck mod to try on the rear suspension to reduce binding under load. I haven't done it yet myself, but he swears by it. An even cheaper and easier solution is to remove the rear sway bar, but at the cost of a large amount of body roll.

Thanks Moses. I had planned on doing Carl's mod when I put the RB springs/swaybars in. But I'll take your advice on the 205/50's all the way around. Easier to rotate anyway.

Have you thought about using a 16x7 with 205/45/16 tires? Also i take it you still have the stock sway bars on the car. With the upgraded bars it takes away most of the oversteer problem that was inherent in your year rx. rx7doctor

I thought about them, but I want to stay as light as possible with the wheels. The Kosei's are 14.1 lbs each, which is quite lightweight. It's eventually (2-3 years) going to be a PP track car.

Pretty light wheels, going to weigh mine, they seem pretty light, made by teamdynamics. Sounds like you have some great plans for your rx. good luck. rx7doctor

Haven't weighed them. Prolly around 12-14 lbs. They're pretty thick aluminum.
