tail lights

i want to know how to remove the tail lights,I have seen some of the tail lights from a 1st gen and they are dark and i think thats pretty cool,I think i read somewhere that all you have to do is remove the lights then put tint on it and stick it back on,Anyone done this?
Thanks
Aaron

you can spray tint them...it's easyer and you don't risk breaking the lenses.....

outside. the outter lens is very difficult to remove, and you usuallly end up cracking it. Just get a can of spray tint and spray the lights from the outside. Do it while it is still in the car, just remember to mask off the body.

Oddly enough I have the opposite problem, my outer lenses are held on with crazy glue....

I tried painting the inside of my tail lights with Pactra racing finish window tint (its for R/C cars). My drivers side outer lense came off easily, but the passenger side cracked in half because I got impatient.

Maybe there is some kind of a solovent that you can use to loosen the glue without harming the plastic cover?

Be carefull not to use too much paint or your tail lights will be very dim...

ok when I tinted my lenses......I wraped them in a towel and baked them in the oven on really low heat for like 20 min........they came apart very easily after that.

ok i just got the window tint and the clear coat, Im going to try to do this later but when you paint the lights doesnt the tint run down and look bad?I was planning on just leaving the lights on and masking off the body then painting it,Also the napa autoparts guy said the clear coat is going to be glossy,How will that look?
Thanks
Aaron

To prevent drips, try to spray it on as thin as possible and do multiple coats.
