First i would pull that arm off the front of the glove door. Pull out the liner on the inside of the glove compartment, and take a look at how those arms hold the door from falling down.

It's a plastic hinge...you're screwed...look under that opening and see if the screws are still there that hold that "hinge"...if they are, you need to go to the classified section and start begging...

[What mar3 said...]
Or, as the previous owner of my car did with the storage bins, you could buy some metal hinges and find a way to fasten them.... Probably not gonna be too pretty though....

edit: btw, that's a very nice lookin' car you've got there!

Duct tape!
or yes, a long and thin metal hinge mounted with flat head screws, then painted black to match... its a fix for the rear storage bins as well.
Or... get your girlfriend to fork out a bunch of cash and buy my spare signed by Koby Kobayakawa

The biggest problem you're going to face, besides the ugly tape showing if you go that route, is that the trim and finish is different on the glove boxes. Any luck in the classifieds?

They rarely break, which means junkyards will have them. Tape it for now and just keep your eyes open. If it embarasses you, just don't open it anymore. And don't dump the G/F, just give her something else to fidget with when you're driving....

Just the glove box door, by the looks of the pic. It appears the plastic hinge is broken. Also, he will need a '79-80 black one that has the silver trim across the top of it.

I believe I have one, although the silver trim has long been lost (I replaced my door recently). I wonder what shipping is to Italia?

Ma' Che Bella

Where did you get that car in Italy? I lived in Italy for 4 years and never seen one RX-7 there. I would love to drive that on the autostrada. Anyway I think if you are crafty you can carefully pull apart the seem where the hinge was and glue a thin piece of black leather in there thats wider than the hinge. Then punch holes in the leather for the bolts that are connected to the metal plate to go through. This will get you by looking pretty until you get a replacement.
