Tacho
Hey guys,
I have an e6k now running CAS. And smart coils... I cannot get the e6k to run the stock tach.... I really really would like to use my stock tach... I've even tried using a pull up resistor... No luck... Can I use a tach adapter or something? What does the stock tach need to function correctly?

Does the engine run? Then the tach should work. The tach just uses the on/off square wave present on the - (negative) coil terminal and counts pulses in a 4 cyl mode like any 4 banger of that era.
Have you tried an aftermarket tach to see if the way the e6k runs the coil is causing the issue? But it really shouldn't be a problem as any coil that gets two pulses per engine revolution should work with any stock rotary tach, or aftermarket set to 4 cyl mode.

So my dad brought up my spare instrument cluster.. At some point here I'm going to try the hook the e6k tacho out up to it and see if it works.. If not what can I do do get a tach signal elsewhere?? IE coil, CAS,etc?? I don't want this to interfere with my ignition at all..
Thanks!
Thanks!
