T II swap spedo gear question

I am puting a T II S4 engine and trans in my 83 GLS. I did the shift box and rod stuff change but I am not sure if I need to use 83 or the T II speedo gear on the output shaft.

Thanks

I just used the TII gear........I think I used the 1st gen cable. Its close enough to be safe, although tire/wheel and diff gear changes will mix things up a bit.

I know with the TII trans and my SE 4.08 gears, the speedo is pretty dead on. For yours to be right, you either need to:
A) Use the GSL Gear
B) Put 4:08s or 4:10s in it
C) Run shorter tires...

If you pull the speedo at the tranny and cluster you can check to see if the speedo cable is broken. If the cable is fine you now have isolated the problem to either the gauge or the tranny.
