So I think my next oil change I'll go with royal purple and one of these
http://trasko-usa.com/
then I shoul only need to change my oil about twice a year.

I saw Amsoil mentioned speicifically a while back. I had an '84 FB given to me by the original owner when the car had 257K miles on it. He gave it to me because he didn't want some kid to buy it and then have it break down the next week. It had been fed Amsoil its entire life after 5000 miles. I know this for a fact because he also gave me a folder that was 2" thick that contained every receipt for the car(even the window sticker from new).

I drove the car for 2 1/2 years until it puked an apex seal 37 miles shy of 275,000.

I would say Amsoil is fine...

I am pulling my engine now for a rebuild and port and polish. i am thinking about using royal purple and change the oil at the normal time. every 3,000 miles with the exception of the first oil change at 1,000. i looked at the website and feel it would be a good idea to so synthetic

As far as I know synthetic is a no no for break in. So you might want to do some research. But I do believe Royal Purple does make an oil specifically for break in.
