syn oil vs din oil (particle size question)

scared you didn't I?

the question is not which one to use but from what i've heard/hear say

syn oil should not be use on "old" engine, due to the seal normal wear and the fact syn oil particle is finer than dino and it might just pass thru.

now now, i've heard this on piston engine, where oil is not "use" like a rotory, so... any scienctific conclusions out there i can read?

btw, as far as lubrication, anyone heard of Miltec-1?

thanks

I do remember people who got mysterious oil leaks when they put in syn, which disappeared when the went back to dino. That was when it first came on the market. Todays formulation has changed form the old stuff so I dunno. I do know that the molecule size is much more uniform in syn oil. Dino oil has a wide vareity of molecule sizes. The smallest/lighest actually evaporate.
