Replacement Air filter?
I was just trying to replace my air filter and I found that my local auto shop didn’t have have the right size filter. So what I did was rip off the foam from the old filter to expose the wire mesh frame, then I covered that with new foam that’s a ¼ inch thick. My question is will this protect my engine from dust and crap, say for about 5-10 days until I find a better aftermarket filter that fits my racing beat housing?
Also I have some pics of my car that I want to post but I cannot figure out the javascript command for the insert images thingy. Any thoughts?
thanks

It will be better than nothing. Why didint you just wash the foam filter? You cant find a suitable filter at the auto parts store? I'd suggest you take the housing in with you and spend some time going thru what they have to find one that fits. And I will extrapolate that a stock size filter does not fit the RB unit? Thats what I suspected.
For the pics, you can either upload them if they are under the maximum size and attach them, or you can host them elsewhere on the net (like your personal homepage or a cardomain site), then link them in using the IMG button.
