I think the best body kit is the one Mazda Rx-7's don't come with. Also the fact they are non-piston powered makes them unique.

Trying to look like a viper with chevy engine under the hood makes it NOT a Rx-7

Not to mention it says on the website it weighs 2700lb!!!!!

(No doubt in part due to the V8 under the bonnet, but I'm not going to open that can of worms lol)

The paint colour is nice...

Side pipes are for 60's comaro's not what ever the hell that thing is because it is NOT an RX7. The rotory engin is at the heart of the RX7 and there is no rotory heart in that car...

No rotors = No RX7

Give that car some Viagra so it can be a full size Viper. I shall call him mini-viper.

I don't know about all of you, but I like the kit. I think it looks very modern. But now that I know the weight, I will not probably be looking at it unless the weight is less.

they changed it to front steer, using GM steering rack.
They changed the suspension.
They changed the rear axle.
They changed the tranny.
They changed the front crossmember.
They changed the engine
They changed the body panels

So basically they built a kit-car but were too lazy to build a floorpan/passenger cage, pretty much the only bits still RX-7.

THe major advantage I see with the kit is the size of tires you can fit both front and rear... granted the car wieghs 2700 lbs but you can fit what is it somthing like a 315 in the back of it...

Now I must admit, I like the overall look of the car itself, it looks like a viper, I like vipers, but thats where the good stuff stops.

I've been a Chevy fan for years, big giant V8's and junky interior to work on (I like making custom interior)

And I like Rx-7s because it is a small little thing, but packs a punch, plus, when you drive it, you can only fit 2 people in it, which is comforting, seeing as none of my friends ever have gas money.

But to mix the two, well that just makes me want to slap someones momma, I mean, it makes sense, the Camaros and Firebirds of the 80s rocked complete ***** handling wise, even though their engines sucked complete ***, so take all the suspension goodness of a 3rd gen F-body and then throw in a 350 (corvette motor), and call it a day, there you go, you have a 3rd gen f-body with a 350 in it, I mean, honestly, with some work, someone could make this same 'kit' for camaros and such, and honestly, it would fit abit better because it would all be Chevy parts, it would look funky with the 2 + 2 seating and such, but atleast the car is still there.

But on an RX-7, it would be useless work, cause you take the car:

body
chassis
engine
rear-end
tranny

and all the little parts, thats what makes an RX-7 (it also makes any car )

Then you take all that and throw it out, replacing it with a Camaro....
So honestly, you just destroyed an RX-7 and built a camaro, then you throw a kit on it.

The only thing this kit takes from the Rx-7 is the interior (I may be wrong, I didn't read the whole thing) so anyone actually thinking about doing this need to just go buy a camaro, and throw the Rx-7 seats (which are SOOOOO damn comfortable) in their camaro, there, you just saved like thousands of dollars (which you can send to me ), cause the whole V8 conversation (with body kit) would cost way to much money, and it wouldn't show any gains worth such cash, a 350 can get upto like 425 HP without any power adders (upwards of 650 street legal hp with adders), but for 16 thousand dollars (which is how much the whole kit costs, I think, I can't read it with that lame *** background) you could get a nice *** 1992 Camaro and redo the entire suspension, get a 350 ci, make it a 400 ci, get a turbo charger, hell, get two turbo chargers, new tranny and rear end, and you can still go see a movie (to cheer your Girlfriend or wife up for throwing 16 grand to a car)

Or you could just **** your RX-7 out to make the same hp as a stock 350 (stock non-modified usually have 250 hp) and then... hell, I dunno, I don't know anything about Rx-7s yet

For looks, yes, this kit looks nice, for someone looking at rx-7s simply as a kit car, there you go, but if you actually like your rx-7, this would sorta be like farting in church, people are going to hate you, and say you smell funny (**doesn't go to church because he lacks the forgiveness it takes to not laugh at people**)

So do what I'm doing, save up alot of money, and just make your rx-7 kick *** (or camaro and an Rx-7 such as my case) because the Rx-7 (and camaros) have really good looking bodies anyways, I mean sure, rx-7s (and camaros) look like they are from the 80s', but.... They are

With the whole kit and conversation done, you have alittle bit of Mazda, alittle bit of Chevy, but it looks like a dodge, CHRIST, its a chevodge-7

And no, I'm not flaming, I'm just rubbing some ribs, like I said
Body kit= sweet (but not Rx7ish)
V8 conversion= Nasty stank hoe wrong herpy lips with a mustache! (just go buy a 3rd gen f-body)

Peace!

Well, that car looks neither like a viper, nor an rx-7. It has neither a rotary, nor a v10, making it neither rx-7, nor viper. Needless to say, neither the viper, nor the rx-7 has a body as grotesque as that, so the obvious answer is no, thats not a good body kit.

the bottom line is that it does not look like an rx-7 which of course equals ugly.

Damn that's ugly... It reminds me of the Porshe 911 kits that I saw on VW beetles as a kid in Australia... They never looked like a 911 or performed anything like one.

Why ruin a perfectly styly car like the RX-7 with a kit like that??

Each to their own I guess...

Matt.

Bodykits like that happen, when you work professionally for quite a few years. You specialize customizing engines, and custom bodywork. It's all you know, and you're good at it.

Then, one day, out of nowhere, you're fired. You can't pay your bills. Your wife leaves you, and your girlfriend doesn't return your calls. You lose your house, and are forced to move in with your brother, and live in the basement. You had to sell your new Corvette, but were able to buy a rusty 87 Camaro, which is now your daily transportation.

You can't find work, and your brother is starting to get on you about paying him some rent money. He asks you to see if someone wants to buy his old, now broken down, 1st gen Rx-7.

Then, after a night of heavy heavy drinking, and lots of drugs, you decide to tear apart both cars.

When you wake up, you realize, you have built that car.

You think, HEY......I can probably sell this car, and make $7500!

Then, your brother, gets upset that you just ripped apart his old car. He kicks you out, and you live in this car.

You grow a mullet, and meet an ugly toothless woman at a bar. Hours, and several drinks too many later, you end up knocking her up.

You never intended on staying with her, so you steal and pawn enough of her jewelry, to make enough money to build another Franken-7.

After completing the 2nd vehicle, you get a notice from the courts, requesting child support, from both your ex-wife, and the chick from the bar.

You're dead broke, and need money fast.

You slap a "For Sale: $16,000" price tag on each vehicle.

Everybody laughs at you and your stupid looking cars.

Soon, you are arrested, for failure to pay support, and you go off to prison, for life.

Oh well. It's where anyone should be, for doing THAT to any car.

THE END.

Maybe if it was just the flares, and an nice molded airdam keeping the stock pop-ups, and ditch the round rear taillights, then it'd look good I think.
