Supercharger on a 7?!

I just found information on a supercharger kit for rotaries. Its a company called Atkins Rotary. The kits are for 12a's or 13b's. Its a direct bolt on for around 2k. Its supposed to add 45% power increase pushing 6 p.s.i.

Anybody heard of this before, or heard of anybody else doing it?

Im seriously thinking of doing this it beats the hell out of turbolag and it will be alot easier instal, does anybody have suggestions or comments?

Search the forum - from what I've heard, the kits aren't the best.

The rotary really lends itself to turbo charging, superchargers netting you barely 60-80 hp are worthless in my book

Hold on there buddie, don't go calling them worthless yet.

What if this guy is a hard core auto crosser. A supercharger would be alot more benificail to him than a turbo would, No lag on boost, Much more low end torque. Now if he wants face deforming acceleration, I will agree with you, that the supercharger would be a worthless investment.

So back the Guru, what do you want???

I know!! That is why you are doing the REW, I have a blow through 12a, we DO NOT know what this guy wants. So before any of us pass judgement on his curiosity, we need to figure out what he wants the car to be used for. Does he want to be King of the "Stop Light 500", or does want to hold top time of the day on a regular basis???

mike supercharger with an eaton can give you some much bigger numbers. Camden designs are poor they really only put out like 30% or less more power. Me and sterling are trying to use eatons and run 11 pounds of boost i'm doing a suck through and he is doing a blow through so we should have some more promissing numbers when all is said and done.

jr
When i get her done i will post some number i'm gonna post before and afters.

Direct Port Nitrous, for instant gratification, extra heat, and quicker spoolin'.

Also nitrous can be used to spray the IC, for cooler, denser charge air, and quicker spoolin'.

yeah.. i knew about the intercooler.....

so what your sayin is direct port nitrious spools it up faster, cause the heat from it exiting is goin faster then the normal(without nos) exhaust heat???

Im wanting a a lil of both, i want my car to have the power off the start, but im wanting the ability to pull decent times. Regardless of the scenario used I NEED more power, im not happy with my mere quoted 135 hp. despite me having full exhaust (which is a piece of **** and I need a new one!!!) Im wanting to get over 250 hp out of my car. Ill do anything (*except pop a p.o.s piston pushin in my 7) Financing is kinda of an issue , unless somebody will sponsor (WINK ! WINK ! NUDGE ! NUDGE!) any suggestions??????????????

A Bridgeport with a good Carb and exhaust system sounds like what you need my friend. Nice and simple too. If you don't like the idle, go with a half bridge. (Street ported primaries and Bridged Secondaries).

Turbos and Superchargers are great, but are a whole different animal, and get seriously expensive quick.
Bad Tuning could leave you engine-less.

There's not much difference between a full bridge idle and a half bridge idle.

That IS the Atkins rotary kit.
Atkins bought Camden superchagers a couple years ago...

I'm designing a cutom SC setup for myself that will either use a Magnuson/Eaton 4th gen roots-type or a Whipple Lysholm-type(Modified Roots-type)

Both far superior to the Camden/Atkins setups...

Get a load of this blown Rx-3 sedan. It runs a GM 3/71 supercharger on a ported Series 5 13B.

There's actually been quite a few old school rotors with similar setups running some really quick times over the years so I wouldn't be too quick to dismiss the idea. Besides, every man and his dog has a 13BT (or RE ) so it's good to see something different once in a while.

Gotta love the number plates as well.

Here's another one... Rx-3/808 coupe. If you're going to do it you might as well go all out.
