My brother made his own grounding kit using 4 guage speaker wire and a few open bolt holes.

He said that the car idled better, but I didn't notice any difference.

i have added about 4 grounds from various points from frame the motor and motor to chassis as well as battery but i didnt notice anything i guess i could take them off and see if i noticed that way adding grounds would pbly be better with FI setup. and you can buy ground wire from j yards for a dollar

If you already have a really good, solid ground, you probably won't be able to tell any improvement by adding additional grounding points. But... It's a relatively inexpensive mod. Grounding IS a NECESSITY. The redundency of ground is not a bad thing, even if unnecessary.

But on a 20 year old car who's got a good ground?

Pull your grounds one at a time, wirebrush the areas where they attach, replace where cables are shot and your good to go, remember on a 20+ year old car, rust and corrosion can creep its way up under the ground points causeing havoc with your grounds.....

Before adding any extra grounds, do this: http://www.jimrothe.com/mazda/battery_cables.html
Then add one grounf from the alternator to the strut tower brace. Thats it!!! No need for a so called super grounding strap.

Maybe also add a coating of Di-Electric grease to help prevent corrosion. Available in a tube or can.

That's good ****. I used that on every stock connection when I replaced my wiring harnesses. Only thing better would be to use modern weather connectors on everything.
