Stuttering/misfire help please
hi guys, im new to the site and i've been having a problem with my 85 gsl-se. i've searched around the forum for help but i cant seem to find a lot of info on out what's wrong with my car. i've pulled apart the intake and the actuators in the lower intake manifold are free moving and seem to be working fine.
the problem i'm having is that when ever i accelerate full throttle as soon as the secondary port actuators open the ports on the lower intake manifold, the car starts sputtering and misfires. if i only open the throttle about 1/4 of the way i can rev it all the way to redline without any problem since the ports do not open. i'm kind of stuck as to what would be causing the problem. anyone have an idea?
the fuel pump and filter are both brand new, the car is bone stock it has a cone airfilter instead of the original airbox but thats all. any help is greatly appreciated thanks.

yeah i've checked everything, spark plugs, timing, and fuel. I finally figured it out. There is a small cone filter in the fuel line from the tank to the pump. It was clogged with rust from the gas tank. I had to clean out the filter and it ran fine. Now i'm going to drop the gas tank and clean out all the rust and it should be good.

I had the same thing pop up on my first-ever drive of my car. My thought was that I've kinked the rubber lines by the fuel filter and the injectors can't keep up at high revs.

I havent had time to do much to the car, i have been busy this part month, I do remember it started stuttering after it was driven for about 20 minutes. i was thinking sparkplugs. if it not the plugs what else could it be?
