No.
The tube is not intended to seperate from the hub. It can be cut, but unless you have plans to use the hubs for some kinda custom setup, I don't see the need.

yes i am doing a custom suspension setup, and this is why i was needing to know...i didnt think it seperated, but this is why i was asking, to make sure i can cut it like so....

and re-weld a different coilover onto the car without having problems with the hub.

Hmm... can I ask why you are cutting out and welding in a different piece, are you going to use coil over from something similar like a AE86? Or a similar idea to this? If you just want a coilover suspension for the Rx there are companies that make them.

Keep us posted this looks promising.

Yeah, why are you intent on cutting the strut tube?

There are plenty of options out there for performance inserts and coil over setups without butchering your front suspension.

If planning is performed and care taken when cutting, yes you can cut the tube from the spindle. Some people do this in order to use a larger diameter than stock insert or a shorter insert.

Yes im going to be using a different makes coilover suspension and adapting it to my FB's Hopefully allowing me to have a FULLY adjustable suspension (of course minus camber adjustment in the rear) but something that the FB community doesnt seem to truely have is a 100% ride height adjustable suspension, with damping and camper adjustments.

Yes i plan on doing this VERY carefully, luckily i have a extra wrecked FB i just bought that i can do this on that car first.

And i know that there are SOME products out for the FB that allow camber adjustment and SOME ride height adjustability. Im just looking for something more...call me crazy, As i was going to do a IRS swap but decided to do this instead.

and yes i know that there are coilover setups OUT im just not terribly impressed with them as there not a 100% togather setup, I noticed to install the Ground Control Front alone cost about 500 bucks. Im doing this ENTIRE front and back fully adjustable coilover setup for around 800 bucks.

This set up rocks for the price, but you are limited to narrow shocks such as Koni Reds, Tokico illuminas etc.
