Stumbling issue until engine is warmed up.
So I've found a nice car that I think could be my DD till I get things straight
http://atlanta.craigslist.org/car/640840384.html
I've talked to him and he said it works great. Only problem is that if you don't let it warm up and you try to rev it high it will cut off (anyone know a solution for this or what this usual means?)
I tried a quick search but with no results.
Help appreciated.

First thing to do if you get the car is (if has not been serviced recently).
1). Change oil, filter, plugs (NGK preferred) fuel filter(must on these).
2). Inspect and replace if needed, air filter, distributor cap and rotor, test wires with OHM meter or if they are hard and brittle just replace.
If you have timing light then check the timing also. Very simple to do.
3). Transmission oil and diff oil, brake fluid if dark needs to be serviced. Coolant and T-stat should be replaced if not done within the last couple of years.
If the guy is starting the car and is not using the choke or the choke is not working then that may be the only cause of the stumble.
If not then there is a good chance that servicing the tune up items above may take care of the issue.
Also recommend that you get a bottle of Sea foam (available at most Napa's) and put it in the fuel tank with a 1/4 tank or less and run until almost empty before refilling. That will help clean out the internals of the carburetor.
After all that if there is still an issue then we go to phase 2.

ok one thing...our cars are always a work in progress...you will always want to fix or upgrade something...they are a blast to drive...that is good for the price..don't forget to check behind the rear bins for bin rust....other than that you cannot be the price..and you get a nice spoiler...
about your problem...don't rev..while warming up...it is best that you just wait till the car warms up..about 5 min..before you take off..that way the oil in the pan is ready to lubricate your parts...if you want a car that just starts up and goes...don't get an rx7...

find out how many miles are on the engine...also it all depends..since you will be driving daily you shouldnt have to worry about the gremilens..but if you have high miles on the engine..you might wanna have it rebuilt...once these things are rebuilt they are amazing...but do what doct said and you should be fine..i mean these cars arent perfect..may take a lil work..but are great to drive..

If we could predict what will or won't happen to any vehicle as it is driven then we probably could predict what the next winning lotto numbers are going to be. Then it wouldn't matter what happened to the car because we could afford to fix it.
You are looking at purchasing a used vehicle. Even if you checked out everything on the vehicle before you bought it you still couldn't know if it is going break down tomorrow.
When owning a used vehicle you can expect (or I should state plan) on repairs at times.
If you are not comfortable with that then perhaps buying a used car is not for you and a new vehicle with a warranty maybe the best choice for you.
The only comfort I can offer you is that if something needs repair then you have a very good support group here with all the technical information available that there is on the vehicle.
