It's obviously a fuel starvation problem. I'd start by changing the fuel filter and verifying the output of the fuel pump. If your still running the old stock fuel pump that could very well be your problem since they tend to wear out over time. Later.

I had similar problem, mine got stuck around that rpm but if really gas'd it, it would go to redline. are you having that problem?? what engine do you have?? Because if your engine can rev to 7000 rpm your fuel pump is fine. If so far everything checks out PM me and I'll guide you through the repair if it's a 13B. For the 12A I have no idea. It's easy about a 10 minute repair. Don.t bother with the dealership cause I sent mine in for that and they kept it for 2 days replaced my new wires w/shitty ones and told me they couldn't do anything about it. AND they messed up my engine adjustments. and sratched my rim. Bitches.

The other night I wound out 4th gear on my 12A and hit the same problem... at about 6000rpm and 160 km/hr the motor didn't want to rev any further. It held at that rpm.
It felt like the fuel went away, but that seems strange because it revs very fast to 8000 in 1-2-3 gears.
I have no cats and new fuel filter, don't know about fuel pump.
I only tried for a second though, and have had my car way faster than that before, so I didn't worry about it too much.
These problems are so hard to test, cause how often can safely drive that fast without getting your license taken away? And 99% of the time the problem is never noticed. I want to try 5th gear and see what happens, but that really takes some open road.
I know that my u-joints are on their way out though, I get a small vibration around 120-130 km/hr that goes away above 140. I was wondering if it had something to do with that?
If anyone figures this out I would be interested... Jimmy54 what was the nature of the problem?
