Stored 12a, starts, won't stay running
The car has been sitting 12 years apparently, I was planning to empty the tank out, but then I noticed that the fuel was spitting easily into the carb.. So we tried to crank her over, pumped the gas a few times and she roared to life.
So I started to try and keep it running by feathering the gas but the thing just flat fell right on its face.. Possibly the quality of the gas or a block in the line..
Any ideas gentlemen? I'm new to these carburetors, but the big 3 are happening since the motor does start..

Don't try to run it on 12 year old gas. You'll just spread the contamination through the carb.
You didn't mention what year the car is. 84-85 cars have a "feature" in the ignition system. It will allow the fuel pump to run while cranking, but once the engine starts it will cut the fuel pump off if it does not detect spark on the trailing ignition system. This could explain why it will start, but not run.
Of course, the most obvious explanation would be the old gas. Get that stuff out of there, and you should plan on rebuilding the carb as well because any fuel that was in there has turned to varnish and will just gum everything up on you.

Hi guys, the car is an 82 5 speed, it was getting clear fuel through the jets, and would fire. Now the rubber pressure lines in the eng bay are dry.
I pulled the fuel filter, yuck! Black sludge, scary stuff, I put 30 liters in the tank and a can of stp carb cleaner and a full can of sea foam too. Cranking the car did not yield anything coming out of the tank side rubber lines under the car. Does the car not pump when starting??

Mine was stored for 6 years here in california I had to drain the tank blowout/replace all my fuel lines and have my tank cleaned and re-sealed at my local radiator shop. The brake fluid in the clutch/ brake master lines may have done damage you cant see as well. its not too expensive to replace those rubber hoses and put new dot3 in all around. Pull your spark plugs as well sitting for a while may have made them nasty. your cluth may be brittle beyond repair i wouldnt suggest driving without at least a visual inspection or just buy a new oem disc to be sure. Mine would not stay running because the pressureplate /clutchdisc was basically frozen to my flywheel. All this damage was just 6 years in covered storage. but drain that gastank all the way use an aircompressor blow out your lines and get only clean new fuel to your carb Rotories hate bad gas even a little will make it run bad.

It should. Can you hear the pump running while trying to start the car? The pump itself might be full of that same gummy stuff you found in the filter...

Update..
Dropped the tank today, thanks for the step by step removal that's been posted a few times by members.. Made it super easy, that's for sure. Most trouble I had was removing the bolts that hold the front tank splash shield. I also took off my rotted OEM muffler but left the nice bulky hangers..
So yeah, super easy, even with nearly 30 liters of gas, it was very easy to handle with a hand jack supporting it, the tank has a pinhole on the upper half just above the tank seam, but that's the only spot.. I'll have to get the one line nipple (return i think?) brazed back on since it came off with the hose. The shell of the car looks great i think.
Also, what's the deal with the rear brake line setup on these cars? 2 lines coming and going from the LR wheel cyl?!
