storage bins

The hinges on both my 85 GS storage bins are broke. I suppose this is a common problem for these cars as it doesn't look like a lot of thought went in the the hinge design. Does anyone have a brilliant fix for this problem?
Thanks,
Todd

Yeah they break often. Could glue on a new metal one being very carefull. Best thing is to find a nice one in the JY or buy new..

If a replacement is not possible, just buy a long strip of hinges from home depot and install it.

Home Depot or Lowes should have them. However- the best places around here are the smaller hardware stores where the owners know exactly what you'll need. I would use a small width, long brass hinge..

Now that is thinking. Man that is pritty smart.

If you look around you may be able to find plastic hinge. Then you can use some sort of appropreate adeivive and attache them that way.

Yeah velcro is a good idea..except for theres no way to actually lock them shut, but my locks don't work anyway...I think I'll go rip my duct tape off mine now

Velcro, duct tape and JB Weld. What else do you need to work on a Rx-7? Oh, 12mm wrench.

mine are magnets. we took the hinges off, and magnetized them. it works great, BUT i need better magnets cuz they keep falling off. and i have my amp in the left side compartment, and its a nice one so i don't want anyone to see it. haha we had to custom fabricate it so that amp fit and stayed in there. its a real piece of work. haha
