It stopped shooting flames!!

i just put on a rb road race header, with custom stuff in between, then into a rb power pulse muffler...and it won't shoot flames anymore ...i hadit all stock with a flow through muffler before and it would backfire and shoot flames like it was nothin...and now i knock out the reactor and get a header and it stops? i don't know if i like it...does this sound normal?

The backfire/flamethrower is caused by air getting into the exhaust. Did you have an exhaust leak before?
Also, plugging off the anti-afterburn valve hose that attaches to the back of the intake, will stop the flames. Go figure, disabling the anti-afterburn valve, stops the afterburn.........

The RB mufflers are chambered. If your old muffler was straight through it would have been easier for the flames to make it out. If you eliminated some exhaust leaks, that will reduce afterburn.

Yep the RB mufflers are chambered you're still getting flames, but they are staying inside the RB muffler. GAWD I hate those things... LOL!

It will also throw flames if it is running rich enough, in the case of the FC's since they are tuned rich from the factory and eliminating the cats will cause them to shoot the flammage

They're quiet and sound good enough, but I don't want one on my car.

Yep, RB's are quiet. I've done the loud thing and on a DD it's not something I want. I would honestly check into some Borla mufflers if you want louder but still with some nice grunt

Yeah, I have a "Fart cannon" on my car. It came on the car. Kinda loud, especially after I added the RB header. I plan to install the pre silencer once I get the car raised back up some. Right now, I'd be afraid of knocking it off, on a pebble......

i plan on getting headers for mine, but now it's all stock up to the muffler and it's a fart can so..as long as i have the silencer on the can its only extremely loud when i got past 4k rpm lol, the rest of the times is tolerable
