Stolen Car

Hey guys, check out the Northwest Forum page on a stolen third gen. This is a good story and also a warning about who you choose to hang with. Sad but not surprising that board members and enthusiasts would prey on each other. Be forewarned!

It was recovered, and they caught the guy. Good work on behalf of the victim's friends.

Oi, what a read. Deception, betrayal, and a dumbass attempt to sell goods in the very place they were spotted in the first place.

That's what I love about my 1st gen. Too hard to get started then a few minutes until it will idle (choke not currently working). Good luck

When my choke is pulled my throttle sticks....my brakes fade way too much and my driver side doorhandle is busted so i have to enter my car by opening the door from the inside.

My car is too loud to steal. If someone was smart enough to get it started, they'd have to figure out how to keep it running. (No choke, hidden fuel cut, and a second countermeasure unmentioned here).

Good luck starting my car, they won't get very far with the amount of gas that i usually have left in the tank! Plus if they were to get it started they'd wake up allllllll the neighbors. not to mention my little cut off switches... and alarm w/ air horn

Uh...Jimmy..

Where are those switched at?

What's your VIN#?
(I just want to run a Carfax, Honest!)

How would I go about disabling your alarm?

Where is your car, and home address?

When are you not anywhere near your car?

These are just Curious questions... Nothing else..

I can't believe some people.

When I installed my carter a few days ago. I installed a cutoff switch. I put it there for emergencies but I might just turn it off when I leave my car.

seriously. everyone seemed to like kelvin... nobody would suspect him of jacking someone's car from the forum, especially since we've all met him and kicked it at least once...

but i feel pretty safe with my FB ain't nobody gonna be able to start it without the magic touch, and then i'd be able to hear it.

who's gonna want a mostly stock '83 GSL w/ no interior anyway?

I used to have a GRANT removable steering wheel. Took it inside at night. Steel cap went over steering column, locked in place with sturdy lock, and column needed custom puzzle lock adaptor on the wheel anyways to hook up a wheel.

Once I installed that no one broke in anymore. Not like I live in bad area or anything. But that removable steering wheel was de bomb. Good old mechanical theft prevention, not that electronic stuff.

eheh, guess I'm not the only one without the choke hooked up.

I don't live in a bad 'hood either but I've had to replace my driver's side door guts twice. ppl trying to use a slim jim on it keep breaking those plastic rod connectors. jeezus! it's not that hard to do right!

the third time they just busted the window and stole the stereo, busting up the dash while they were at it.

anyways, i moved the clifford alarm from the mustang (which noone ever breaks into, ehehe) into the 7. seems to have fixed the issue.
