Stock Swaybar Questions

I was doing a little research out of curiosity on the stock suspension and for my blog. I have a few questings about sway bars.

This is what I know already from parts manuals:
-Front bar for all years is parts# 8871-34-151

Rear Bars:
-8871-28-151A (18mm) SA22C500001-SA22C568500?
-8980-28-151 (16mm) SA22C568501-FB...5

-8980-28-151 (16mm) FB...500001-510972 ('81 model thru oct. '80 prod.)
-8871-28-151A (18mm) ('81 & '82 models)
-FA01-28-151 (15mm) FB...501693- ('83 model)

-FA01-28-151 (15mm) ('84-'85 models)
-also lists 17mm bar but no parts number or info

1. Did any only come with a front bar?

2. What is the front bar diameter in MM?

3. Did the GSL-SE use the same size rear bar as the '84-'85 base or is it the 17mm bar?

If I recall correctly, the '85 FSM implies that the rear bar was optional, but does not detail what models.

according to energy suspension, the front sway bar is 23mm. I can measure tomorrow if you like

I think on SAs, you only got the rear sway bar on a GS or LS model.
Otherwise there was no rear sway bar.

So I would almost bet that on the S model throughout the years was optional. I'm going to do a little more searching through the brochures.

I could try and measure my front bar but i don't have a caliper so I wouldn't be able to get a good number.

I bought a 79 "S" model new and it did not come with a rear bar. I do not know if was available on the S model as an option or if you had to get the gs to get a rear bar.

the 79-80 S models come with no rear bar, like everyone has said. the GS comes with the 18mm rear bar, but they made it smaller because the 18mm bar lifts the inside rear wheel on cornering.
