Stock/original Camber-Caster setting

I've searched and searched the forum and the FSM is a bit vague.

I have replaced the strut top and no longer have an "arrow" but I do know which stud is closest to the strut center.

For the original setting should that stud go toward:
(A) Inside - Rear
(B) Inside - Front
(C) Outside - Front
(D) Outside - Rear

-letters from the 85 FSM

Right now I have the closest-to-center stud at the (A) position.
However both tires are wearing considerably more on the inside.

If you had the arrow, both should point to the middle/rear of the engine bay. If you look at the strut top you can see that its not centered by the bolts. You want the center as far back and inwards as you can get by rotating the position of the bolts. This gives you maximum camber and caster. I think its maybe .5 degrees of camber with some +- to it. Not much but its the most you can get stock.

Very good. Thanks.

So to make my strut tops agree with the 85 FSM directions, the "Arrow" would be opposite the stud closest-to-center, and pointed at (C) front-outside.

Currently I have both struts set to inside-rear.

Any chance that could accelerate inside tire ware?

I'll check the toe-in again.

On the driver side it should be pointing at B and the other side at A. The manual is very confusing on this if you ask me.

Wow! I just noticed that on the illustrations. Very goofy.
Better to go Inside-Rear, Inside-Front, etc.

I had the same questions and ended up using my own graphic to summarize and confirm with the wise minds here (graphic below). The OEM parts were all there and it was oriented as in the red. I used the green "max camber" setting when I replaced the stock shocks and springs...Tokico Blues and RB.

And, Tim, I used your excellent earlier thread when I was doing my suspension, https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generati.../#post12120922. And that was before the "thanks" button. So take a thanks now.
